Four Oaks, NC January
28, 2013
– Back in September 2012 Deacon Jones Chrysler
Dodge Jeep in Smithfield partnered with Chrysler’s Drive for the Kids™ program in a fundraising effort to benefit Four
Oaks Elementary School. Turnout for the
event and community support was phenomenal and Four Oaks Elementary garnered
one of the highest number of test drives in the nation during their event.
For every community member who participated by taking a
test drive in the new Chrysler Town & Country minivan, Deacon Jones Chrysler
Dodge Jeep donated $10 to the participating school. After having one of the
highest numbers of test drives of all the schools that participated, Four Oaks
will receive an additional $5000 from Chrysler, making it a total donation of
$8,310 from Deacon Jones Auto Group.
“Fundraising is always tough, especially in today’s
economy,” said David Pearce, Principal of Four Oaks Elementary. “Through the Drive for the Kids™ fundraiser with Deacon Jones
Chrysler Dodge Jeep, the Chrysler brand helped us to raise money to further
education and reward those from the community who came out for a test drive
with a great experience and additional funding for the school. The Chrysler
brand is truly invested in our students and has shown continued support which
we are more than thankful to receive.”
Four Oaks Elementary School plans to use the donation to
complete their nature trail and to invest in new technology for their
students. “We are thrilled to
have the opportunity to give back to the community and help the next generation
as they grow and learn.” said Christina Jones of Deacon Jones Auto Group.
Christina
Jones and Tina Jones of Deacon Jones Auto Group will present the check to the
staff and administration of Four Oaks Elementary School on Tuesday, January
29th, during the PTA meeting at Four Oaks Elementary.
